Amateur Event Guidelines

Amateurs
|
(9 and under) Juvenile, (10-12) Preteen, (13-15) Junior, (16-18) Youth, (19 & over) Adult A, (35 & over) Adult B, (50 & over) Senior.
All amateurs must be registered with the NDCA. Eligibility to
compete applies to each individual competitor, not to a couple as an entity. An amateur couple can compete in an event only if both partners meet the eligibility requirements for that event.
No costumes are permitted in the Bronze and Silver Syllabus
events.
Amateurs may dance in only 3 consecutive levels in each discipline.
Adult B and Senior competitors may dance in a younger age
category if they wish, but may not compete in more than one age category in any one discipline (Standard, Latin, Smooth, Rhythm).
Exception: Couples in the B or Senior Open Championship level
may also dance in the Adult A Open Championships.
Solo Exhibitions are limited to 4 showcase routines per couple; 3
minutes maximum length each. Music should be provided on CD to the Music Director 30 minutes in advance of your scheduled event.
William E. Unkle Scholarship is offered in International Standard.
Open level. Available to ages 35 and over. To qualify, couples
must dance in any full compliment Pre-Champ or Open Championship event.
DEADLINE for dance entries is December 10, 2012.
