The Yuletide Ball began in November 1988 as an anniversary
celebration dance. For fun, we added some competition the following
year. Over time, the event grew into a full-fledged Dancesport
Championship.
Our New Year’s Eve Gala has always been an important and integral
part of The Yuletide Ball. The J.W. Marriott welcomed us with open
arms when they realized that we were a well-behaved group that
wouldn’t trash the hotel as some other groups had done in past New
Year celebrations. We are there to dance for fun, for competition, to
learn and to celebrate.
We’ve seen many star studded professional shows and exciting
competitions over the years. Most valuable, though, are the numerous
friends we have acquired who continue to support our event. Thank you
sooooo much!
When you join us this year, be sure to ask about “the birds”
or “the fallen bartender”! Many things, both beautiful and quirky,
are stashed away in our memory box. We’d love to share them with you.
